What the data shows
Oklahoma City, OK has had hail reported on 205 separate days since January 1, 2000, more than any other US city or town, with 822 reports in all. Colorado Springs, CO (195 days) and Amarillo, TX (158) follow.
8 of the 25 are in Texas, 4 of the 25 are in Kansas, 3 of the 25 are in Oklahoma. Most of the list sits on the Plains, from Texas to South Dakota, where spring and summer storms form along the Rockies' foothills and the dry line.
The list ranks hail days rather than reports. A single storm over a big city can produce dozens of reports from spotters and the public, so report counts favour populous places; a hail day counts once however many people called it in.

Method and caveats
- A report belongs to a city when it falls inside the Census place or within about 5 km (3 miles) of its edge, so large cities cover more ground than small ones.
